The saying goes that once you get married you practically fall off of the face of the earth for a year.

I think the saying should go more like, "once you get married people treat you like you have fallen off the face of the earth."

I'm not saying that this happens to everyone or that I feel it has happened to us in all instances, but I do think there is truth to it. Just saying.

Thank you to friends who still make the effort to be my friend and a part of my life even though a) I'm married and b) moved to Salt Lake. You are true friends.

good food

Classic ROKA Cheese Ball

I made my first cheese ball on Thursday; it was delicious.
1 pkg. (8 oz) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 jar (5 oz.) KRAFT ROKA Blue Spread
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
3/4 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans
1/4 cup dried cranberries

MIX first 3 ingredients until well blended. Refrigerate 2 hours.
SHAPE into ball. Coat with remaining ingredients.
SERVE with RITZ Crackers.

(Next time I'll put in half the garlic- I'm a garlic wimp)

ALSO-this is the best pasta I've ever tasted. I haven't made it in forever and suddenly had the craving yesterday.
I'll share:

Easy Lemon Pasta with Chicken

1 pd. Dried penne
2 chicken cutlets, cut into fingers
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 cloves garlic, sliced
¼ tsp. red pepper falkes
3 tbsp. olive oil
3 tbsp roughly chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
2 lemons, juiced
½ cup grated parmesan

Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water, until al dente. Drain well.
Season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat a large grill pan over medium high and add chicken. Grill until golden and completely cooked. Remove to a plate and slice.
Add the garlic and red pepper flakes to a sauté pan with 3 tbsp. of olive oil and saute until fragrant. Add the cooked pasta and turn heat off. Mix all together.
Remove pasta to a large bowl. Add chicken to the arm pasta and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle in chopped parsley. Add the juice of 2 lemons and mix. Before serving top with Parmesan.

1st snow day

I woke up this morning and couldn't find Luke anywhere! I finally found him outside shoveling the snow. What a guy. I helped too- my back hurts now :)

Well, this was about a month and a half ago, but we have our own washer and dryer now! And yes, we posed with them.

trans-siberian orchestra

Goal: Take Luke to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Check this one off!
We loved this concert. They sound great on the radio, but there is something about watching these guys rock out with their electric guitars while playing Christmas music (not to mention they put on a light show during their concert as well, hence the seizure-like video). Loved it, love them.

cheers to 6 months

Well, yesterday was our 6-month mark. We still love each other.
We have adopted the phrase used in How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days
...I love you, but I don't have to like you right now...
Luke is the best. I woke up Sunday morning to eggs and french toast, a breakfast favorite.
Something I have learned about myself since being married to Luke:
I am a lot more dramatic than I like to think. He puts up with me well; I think he may be the only person in this world who can put up with my dramaticness and not be too annoyed at me. I am working on acting more my age and being less whiney.
