My Peaches and Cream

This is great. Bri is sitting right next to me while I'm laying here on the ground and she has no idea I'm in the process declaring my love for her, via the internet. I know, romantically disgusting, in a sneaky, mischievous, and cutesy sort of way.

Have you ever thought to yourself, "what does my wife, or loved one, mean to me"? Well we in the Robinson household have become pro's when it comes to rationalizing our need for and somewhat dependance upon desserts, so what better comparison, right?

So if Bri is anything, she has to be peaches and cream. Not just any peaches and cream, but fresh from the local farm, at the peak of the season on a warm, beautiful summer's eve, peaches and cream. The kind that melts in your mouth and is so fulfilling it has you convinced that you could indulge in it for every meal, the rest of your life and you'd never tire of it. The kind of peaches and cream that possesses so much natural sweetness that you feel like there is a soft, subtle explosion of greatness in every mouthful. The kind of peaches and cream that if you were to close your eyes you would swear you were eating dessert while in the presence of the gods. The kind of peaches and cream that is so good that it gives you the courage and hope once again that the world will be alright and nothing really matters except being with those you love.

Life is all about enjoying peaches and cream, and I love that I get to experience my own little bowl of it every day. Why I'm so lucky, who knows. But I'm sure glad I am.

What a great age. It was so much fun celebrating Shea's birthday with her. I guess I owe it to her. After all, she did somehow put up with me as a roommate for 4 LONG college years. BFFL right? Love ya Shea Shea.

L as in Ludacris

I need to document the fact that I am listening to Luke talk to someone on the phone right now and he said that exact phrase while spelling a name. It wasn't L as in Luke or L as in love or L as in library- it was L as in Ludacris. Good one.

mission call

G got his mission call! Paris, France. He will be a wonderful missionary and I'm proud of him!

Because of G's call, Luke and I got to spend some time in Logan.

Logan is so beautiful! Not only is it beautiful, but it is a place where I decided what type of person I was going to be and I committed to a lifestyle I wanted to live for the rest of my life. Being in Logan brings back those memories of the growth I made as a person while living there. I love it up there. I was thinking today about Salt Lake and how completely different it is living down here and how my experiences here are so completely different than what I experienced in Logan. I tend to live in the past and want everything to stay the same, but today I had the realization that this is just another part of my journey to continue growing as a person. One day I will look back at the unique experiences I am having here and think "Wow, remember when..." And the experiences that don't seem so fun now are going to one day hold a very special place in my heart.

I was so happy to see some old/long time friends this past weekend. It's amazing how time flies and things change but that those friendships can last :)

One Year!
To celebrate we had dinner at Benihanas.  And yes, Luke's parents even saved us some wedding cake.  We sliced that frozen cake and took a bite.  We enjoyed a performance at the Hale Center Theater.  Ate some TCBY afterwards and checked into the Little America Hotel where we had stayed the night we were married.  Simple and sweet.

one year

Still do?  Me too.

michaels scam

So...I was involved in the recent Michaels scam that happened here in Midvale. And by involved I mean that I was a victim.  Awesome.  I tried to use my debit card twice within the last two weeks only to be notified both times that the transaction was not authorized.  Awesome again.  Then I got a letter from my bank telling me that my card information may have been compromised at a third party location.  Thanks bank for keeping my account safe from card thiefs.  My new card will be here in 7 to 10 business days.

When you know better, you do better.

"Speaking of mothers, this ability and willingness properly to rear children, the gift to love, and eagerness, yes, longing to express it in soul development, make motherhood the noblest office or calling in the world"
-President David O. McKay

My mom is:
-extremely talented
-has an amazing voice
-loves the gospel
-looks young
-great cook
-wins at all card games
-made my prom dress
-says, "sorry Charly" and "Cheer up Charly" and "home again, home again!"
-always cut my hair growing up
-taught me how to cook and bake
-ran a half marathon this past year
-inspires me to run
-finds the positive in situations
-is classy
-does loads and loads of laundry (I've watched her)
-bought a dog finally- after I moved out of the house
-does sudoku puzzles to prevent Alzheimer's
-stayed home with us while Dad worked
-eats healthy

And lots of other things. You get the idea. My mom is a great example to me. I really do believe that being a mother and a nurturer is one of the most important roles in this life. If not her, then who?
I love you mom. Happy Mother's Day!
