niagra falls

I finally got to go to Niagra Falls! My wonderful grandparents invited me and Luke on this trip and we loved every minute of it. I'm so thankful that we were able to go!

Niagra Falls was absolutely beautiful. I'll be posting 547 million pictures because I couldn't choose just a few. Water is so beautiful. We stayed on the New York side and began by doing "Cave of the Winds". The water was so powerful, and there was so much wind. We got to be right up next to one of the waterfalls.
Here are the lovely sandals we all wore

The creaky/unstable/scary steps

Afterwards we were quite soaked! Oh, and behind us is our friend.
The view was amazing. See that ship out there? We went on one. It's called Maid of the Mists. Takes you right up to the falls. There is so much water that it's hard to keep your eyes open because it feels like it's down pouring on you. It's as if the boat is just being swallowed up by the falls.

So amazing
and then of course... we had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe.  Yum.
nice I love you sign Luke. :)
Go to Niagra Falls, it was totally worth it!

road bikes

I love that we have bikes. It took me a little while to feel comfortable riding because I'm so unstable on a bike, but I got it. Luke had to teach me about shifting gears and all that...
Neither of us have fallen yet- but I've had a few close calls; we do wear our helmets.

happy 4th

2 great photos to remember the day...
Next year Luke and I want to set a goal for the year where each holiday we take the time to really understand the importance of the holiday and what it means. I would love to take the time to go places that are meaningful to each holiday. It's something to look forward to next year.

*but we also got road bikes! More to come on that...

stadium of fire

I have heard such wonderful things about the Stadium of Fire, and being able to go confirmed all of those wonderful things!
Luke scored some free tickets at work and we got to bring Gentry and Braden along as well.
First of all, David Archuleta performed. I LOVE HIM. Seriously. His voice is amazing guys, especially live. Plus, he's adorable.
Then there was Brad Paisley.. (Luke's man crush).
There was a beautiful choir, parasailers, planes that flew over our heads, dancers, a talent show, and then of course the famous fireworks show.  It was the bomb.

Lake Tahoe

Yay for vacations!
We traveled to the border of Nevada and California to spend some time at Lake Tahoe.  The lake is beautiful and I would definitely go back.
We passed this funky little thing on the way there:
I can now say that I've been to Wendover, although it really was not very exciting.
We stopped in Reno for the night to visit Isaac and Sal. They were great tourists/hosts. We were grateful for their hospitality. Plus now I can also say that I've been to all the great sights of Reno. Oh trust me, you don't want to miss out.
While in Tahoe, we hung out on the lake, got sunburned, did not go in the water because it was -532 degrees, went on a bike ride, ate lots of Jamba Juice, checked out a beautiful waterfall, went to a car show, went on the most beautiful hike ever, window shopped, wished we had a dog, went for a 5 mile run that turned into a 0.75 mile jog, went to a farmers market, let Luke wear my sunglasses, took an old fashioned/antique photo, and HAD FUN!
p.s. at the farmer's market, we bought the most beautiful bird cage. we have no idea what we will do with it, but it rocks!
