tim mcgraw

Somehow Luke scored tickets to his concert!...and was nice enough to bring me along. Luke is always scoring free tickets to things. It must be something in his blood.
It was actually a really great concert and I was so excited to be able to see Tim McGraw since he is a long time favorite singer of mine. Although- why didn't he sing "I Like It, I Love It?" ...I want some more of it, I try so hard, I can't rise above it.... Someone should talk to Tim about that because I was waiting. I spent lots of time listening to that song over and over again once I had it on CD, just to learn all of the words so I could sing it all the way through.
The Band Perry and Luke Bryan were also there, and can I just say that I love country music?
My pictures aren't great because we were so far away. My favorite is of Luke playing Angry Birds on my cell phone. Tim McGraw started singing Last Dollar (Fly Away) and Luke made it clear that he didn't like that song. He sat right down and started being a part of our Tim McGraw concert date again when the next song came on :)

if you like chocolate and coconut...

Then, this is for you...
Best dessert ever.  I've decided to share.  But, don't blame me when you have overindulged and you have a tummy ache.

Jewish Brownies

Mix:
1 cup butter/margarine
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
3 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
Add:
1 cup flour
pinch of salt

Bake at 350 degrees in greased and floured 9x12 pan or 13x18 cookie sheet for 20 minutes.
*I like to use a cookie sheet.

While it's baking, Mix:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups flaked coconut

Spread on top of hot brownies.  *I dump it on the hot brownies and wait for 30 seconds for it to melt a little so that it is easier to spread and not tearing apart the brownies.
Return to the oven for 13 minutes.  The coconut should be golden brown.
Let cool, and then frost with Chocolate Frosting.

Chocolate Frosting
Mix:
4 Tbsp. butter
1 egg
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. milk
1-2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

yuummm

*Sometimes I like to do no frosting because it's so rich, but Luke would say the frosting is a must!

27!

Oh my, Luke is 27 years old!
If ya can't tell, it's a foosball table!
I love the "Family Fun" website.
So many cute ideas!
If you want to check it out, you can go here.

Luke's mom made this great cake for him! He gave her so much grief about never getting a cake 'like everybody else' when he got off his mission that she finally gave into his whining! :)
*the date is wrong

 Luke got to open presents...
and go to a REAL Salt Lake game.
Thanks for having a birthday! Love you!

bee's game

Hey friends! Thanks for letting us come.

hill cumorah pageant

So, the whole point of our trip to New York was to go up to Palmyra to see my family.
Palmyra is beautiful.  It is where a lot of the early history is for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
My family was participating in the Hill Cumorah Pageant.  If you want to know more about the pageant you can go here;  it depicts the story of The Book of Mormon.  My family has been doing it for a few years and they love it.
I had such a great time being back in Palmyra.  It was great to be there with my grandparents, and especially to have Luke there.  We were able to tour the Joseph Smith Farm, Book of Mormon printing press, and The Sacred Grove.
And then of course we were able to attend the pageant 2 nights in a row with VIP seating because my parents are a big deal like that.
I think it's so great to see everyone dressed up in their costumes!  It's hilarious to hear about my dad year after year and see him in costume just because I'm so used to his usual business attire :)
I'd really love to have a garden like this one...
I love the little wood fence.

Got to ring a church bell.
And here are the pageant pictures.

So glad we got to go!

I just need to take a sec to add some of my own memories from my lovely experience there as a participant:
Here I am with a fellow Harvest Dancer and Fire Dancer.

They were so little back then!
Now they are hanging out with boys...etc.
 Practice makes perfect.
I thought this guy was pretty cute.
Oh yes, let's not forget this day.
I woke up to this :)
